Lady Gaga: Thierry Mugler’s top model

Just a few  days after John Galliano’s fall, when nobody though that this news could be eclipsed by any other (except for the appointment of Galliano’s successor, which turned out to be Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci), then came Paris Fashion Week, with the extravagant -as usual- collection ready to wear for Fall/Winter 2011-2012 of  French designer and perfume maker Thierry Mugler. What was so special about the event? Lady Gaga walking the runway for Mugler, modelling the designs of Mugler’s creative director Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga’s longtime friend (Formichetti is also her stylist and she was in turn her musical director for the designer first Men Collection).
Adding some spectacularity, Lady Gaga bought up all Mugler´s collection, in every colour, as Formichetti announced a couple of days later.
The singer and performance artist paraded twice, wearing very, very long heels (higher than the other models), although all the show looked like “Gaga World”, with really futuristic and flamboyant designs (a  more commercial line is to be sold on stores, though). During one of her appearances, she wore a wedding dress, with a tight corset -an element the collection repeated in other models-  and a flying saucer look alike hat.
Other elements used in the collection were the latex jackets and the neoprene stocks, rigorous black dresses, with latex belts, or fire red skirts, “nude” tones mixing with model’s  bodies, purple laces and transparent tops allowing to watch the models’ breasts. Al dresses came with 16 centimeter heel shoes, which made the public fear for the physical integrity of models.
